Devil’s Lake, Wisconsin

A summer storm approaches in Devil’s Lake, Wisconsin. Once a river, the lake ended up in its current state in the last ice age, when glaciers deposited material and dammed off the water flow. The lake has amazing acoustics, probably due to its location inside of a shallow basin, and many times while circumabulating the lake, it was possible to clearly hear people on the other side. The native Americans of the area named it “Spirit Lake”, since they could supposedly hear the voices of the spirits during their celebrations.
